Our generated puzzles preserve the meaning and provenance of the underlying sports facts.
Sources and attribution
We use only production-approved datasets listed on our Sources page. Each statistical answer retains its source name, version, and supporting record identifiers.
Season scope
Regular season, postseason, and combined statistics are distinct scopes. A statistical template must declare its scope, and generation fails when scope is missing or unknown.
Historical team names
Team labels are resolved for the season or event date, rather than replaced with a franchise’s current city or name.
Validation and quarantine
Before publication, the answer, value, ranking scope, historical label, and provenance must agree. A failed question is quarantined and is never replaced with fabricated fallback content.
Active players and corrections
Changing facts use an explicit as-of date. Published snapshots remain stable; verified corrections are logged with a reason, revision, and correction time.
